Founded by Jay Collison, The Tone Garage is a premier service center specializing in the repair, calibration, and restoration of elite audio systems. We are proud to be the regional service center for Mark Levinson, JBL Synthesis, and ARCAM. We are also an authorized service center for BSS and Crown.

Meet Jay Collison
At the heart of The Tone Garage is Jay Collison, a seasoned audio engineer with a rare blend of technical mastery and hands-on experience. With a background in electrical engineering and a lifelong passion for sound, Jay has spent decades working at the intersection of analog precision and digital innovation.
Jay’s career began in the trenches — diagnosing circuit-level faults, rebuilding power stages, and fine-tuning signal paths in some of the most revered audio systems in the industry. Today, he leads The Tone Garage with the same dedication to detail and performance that earned him recognition from top-tier manufacturers.
As an authorized service technician for Mark Levinson, JBL Synthesis, Crown, and ARCAM, Jay doesn’t just follow schematics — he understands the design philosophy behind each brand. His approach combines factory-level standards with a craftsman’s intuition, ensuring every repair is not only technically sound but acoustically faithful.

These days, Jay can look back on over 25 years as an audio electronics engineer. Over the course of his career, he’s seen it all when it comes to audio electronics.
Jay has also received additional certification from the former Crown factory in Elkhart, Indiana. Having worked with BSS, Crown, JBL, and Soundcraft equipment for decades, he understands the ins and outs of the equipment better than almost anyone else.
